I was visiting TN when I heard so much about the food at Osaka. Being from Dallas, I've had my share of really great sushi. I was a bit skeptical, but I was blown away by the food, the general atmosphere, and the hospitality. The rolls we ordered was amazing, from the fresh sashimi slices to the crunchy special rolls. If the rolls were good, the hibachi was even more impressive. The rice down to the vegetables were mouth-watering. And guess what? The secret sauce really was amazing! The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice as well. It was open and inviting. We sat at the hibachi table and I was nervous because my past experiences have been smoke in my face, but the restaurant was very well ventilated and I couldn't smell anything but the delicious food. Coming from the Deep South where southern hospitality is prevalent, I was very pleasantly surprised to experience one of the best services I have ever gotten. The hibachi chef was pretty funny and accommodating to my little cousins, who, at the best, are brats. The owner even came out to greet us after hearing that we were from out of state. Overall, this is definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever been too. I for sure left with a full belly and a warmed heart!!

Osaka is a cool wine and dine restaurant. The decor is dark colors and cozy,laid back atmosphere upon arrival. I have experienced both regular and the hibachi grill; which is more expensive. I recommend to experience the hibachi grill at least once. My chef almost killed me when the knife flew out of his hand and it flew into my plate! The food is good but not the best Japanese food that I have tasted. Expect to pay $14-25/person. The sushi rolls range from cooked to raw fish rapped in Eel. There is something for every palate. Try it!

I don't do the "Clanging Klang Clang" of hibachi, so if I come here, it's for the sushi, sashimi or tempura. I'm more of a sampler platter guy when it comes to this stuff, but their selection is varied and decent for their prices. This last time, my lunch date went with the seafood tempura, which disappointed, as it usually is varied, with fish, shrimp, scallops and vegetables. This time around, barely any seafood to see, only assorted mushrooms, broccoli, a yam and it's as if they forgot the protein in this dish. For cold days, the miso soup hits the spot. Compared to other area Japanese places, this one is a convenient one, and it won't break your budget.

We just ate at Osaka. Have not been before. The menus are black with red writing and very difficult to read. We were ordering the hibachi. Found the early bird special which was $14 and we were too late for. Under that was hibachi with regular prices for $16 so we pointed to that when we ordered. When we received our bill it was $24 per person without tax!! When we called the manager over she told us we we ordered the wrong thing and after 6pm it was $24. When I explained that we pointed to our order that showed $16 and that the waitress should've told us we could no longer order from that menu. However she still refused to honor the price and said she didn't know whether to take our word or the servers. (Clearly has no concept of customer being right) It appears from the set up of their menu they are trying to mislead customers. And what terrible customer service! It was the servers fault for not notifying us when she saw we were ordering off the wrong menu. They purposefully do this to cheat people. Who in the world would pay $25 for a meal in Olive Branch when you could have a fancy dinner for that at a nice restaurant in Memphis! We will never be back and I'll forever consider this place cheaters and thieves. Do yourself a favor if you want hibachi - go to Kyoto down the road. They have reasonable prices and great food.

This place should be closed. The food was so bad I could not eat it. I did not take it home either as I did not want my dogs to suffer.
